Functional Writing

We have begun a new genre of writing...Functional Writing!! This genre is one of my favorites. We get to make lots of yummy treats during writing time. You may ask yourself though, What is Functional Writing? Here is a list from our class chart we made about what makes a good functional writing piece.
-tells your reader how to do something
-gives step by step directions in sequential order
-uses time cue words such as First, Next, Then, Last
-detailed picture to match each step

Here are examples/pictures of topics we have wrote in class together.
