Welcome Back and Happy New Year!

Welcome back, I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Break and a Happy New Year!

Over break I went home down south for a week to spend Christmas with my family. Christmas is my favorite time of the year because I get to see all my Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends. Christmas Eve we always spend with my dad's side of the family and Christmas day we spend with my mom's side of the family. Its always fun getting the whole family together even though it gets a bit crazy with so many people :) .

The day after Christmas my mom, my two sisters and I went down to Boynton Beach so I could try on wedding dresses...and I FOUND ONE!!!! It was so much fun the three of us together laughing and crying at the bridal store. I am completely in love with my dress and still can't believe I will be getting married in October!

This year is going to be the most exciting year for me. My sister is having her first baby, my best friend since PreK is getting married, both my parents are celebrating their 60th birthdays and a 40th wedding anniversary, I will be traveling to Jackson Hole, Wyoming with my family over the summer, Hawaii for my honeymoon and lastly I am getting married to my best friend in October after 11 years of dating!! I think 2013 is my year :)

Now it is your turn to share what you did over the break. I can not wait to read everyone's responses. Directions on how to comment are located on the right hand side of the blog.

  1. It sounds like you have a lot of exciting things going on this year coming. I'm from Wyoming and you will love Jackson Hole. Its very pretty there. Your going at the right time of the year because if you went now, you would freeze. Te'Shawn had spent his whole Christmas vacation in Atlanta with his grandparents. He said he had a really good time but called me every now and then ready to come home because he missed me. I just stayed here in Jacksonville and worked and tried to relax as much as I could. Welcome back to school.

  3. We're happy to hear all of your exciting news! I asked Dylan what he wanted to share on your blog, and he said "she can read my journal I wrote for her." :) So, I'll share some highlights. We did not travel...all of our travel was in November, so we were able to enjoy a quiet, calm Christmas at home--just the three of us. We had a yummy cookie party with our neighbors. Dylan got to be in his first Christmas pageant at church(he was very excited to be the animal he wanted...a cow!) :) We got lots of new board games to play as a family. And to top the whole vacation off, Dylan was able to stay up until midnight ---with the help of a 4 hour nap between 4-8 pm ;)--- to watch the ball drop in Times Square on New Year's Eve. He'd told us he was going to stay up to watch it ever since visiting Times Square at the end of November. He did it! We had a great break, but we also know he's very happy to be back with his friends at school. :)

  5. We stayed home for the christmas holidays also, We went to the mountains for Thanksgiving so just enjoyed some down time at the house. Cody got to enjoy some time with his cousin visiting from NY, we hosted 60 people at are house for my husbands work party and met some new friends that also came and shared New years Eve with us.
It was a very quiet, relaxing break and Cody wants me to remind you again that he got a popcorn machine. (im guessing he likes it just a little)
Glad to hear that you had a wonderful holiday and got a little wedding planning done also.

  8. Congratulations on all the wonderful events happening for you & your family! Elizabeth couldnt wait to share your engagement news with me. I am s happy for you! While we didn't travel,Elizabeth was quite active. I can't even remember how many times she got to go to the park with her brother, cousins & grandma.Christmas day was a great day for her & her brother, She got a new bike & wanted to ride it immediately. So while still in her Tink PJ's, she donned her new boots (which I know you've seen since I can barely get them off her, lol) & off we went around the block. I think the best part of the day for me was capturing her on video dancing to her Kidz Bop CD. :)

  9. Congratulations. My little sister is also getting married around the same time so i can only imagine the anticipation and excitement. Janice is talking about the big news of your engagement and how excited you are about the wedding. We had a very good break. Janice spent many days at the park, out at the barn with her pony, playing with her baby brother Mathew, riding her bike, she was a very busy little girl. Christmas Eve we spent the night at my mom's house, Janice got to open one present. She got a new movie-Barbie Mermaid Tale 2. Sunday morning Janice tried to wake everyone up before 7 am so was so excited. Mom made a wonderful spread for breakfast as usual. Then we all gathered in the family room around the tree and opened presents and stockings. Her favorite gift was an easel from her aunt and uncle and lots of paint stuff. We had another Christmas that weekend at my Nana's and saw family we usually only get to see once a year it was really wonderful to see everyone.
